Energy Drainers
Removing Energy Drainers From Your LifeBy: Marie Magdala Roker
Energy drainers are people or situations that take away from the quality of your life. Energy drainers make life seem like a constant challenge. They do not contribute to your happiness or sense of fulfillment; if anything, they take away from your life. If a person is an energy drainer, this person will spend time complaining or whining about how unfair life is and find something wrong with almost everything in life. If a situation is an energy drainer, you will find yourself working harder to make the situation better, but to no avail. An emotionally, physically or verbally abusive relationship is an energy drainer. A job or career that doesn't support your natural gifts, talents or strengths is an energy drainer.Life is too precious to waste time on people or situations that do not help you grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. The decision on what to do about an energy drainer is difficult at times because the choice to get rid of an energy drainer may not be simple. Sometimes energy drainers are our family members, friends or spouse. Surround yourself instead with energy suppliers, people that uplift, support and encourage you to be and do your best. Engage in activities that contribute to your personal and professional development. Do things that make you feel better when you are having a hard time. Spend time with people you enjoy—people who make you feel good about yourself. Avoid people who aren’t supportive. Keep your life as simple as possible. If it doesn’t really need to be done, don’t do it. Learn that it is alright to say “no”. You are worthy of living a happy and fulfilling life, don't let anyone or anything deprive you of it.
